Well it was the Fan/ Heatsink on the CPU causing all my problems and causing the program to crash when CPU temp went up...

I removed heatsink and fan , gave them a really good clean ( couldnt belived how much dust was clogged up in the heatsink fins) , then i cleaned off the heatsink and cpu face and applied Artic Silver Thermal Paste.

B4 my cpu temp went from 40 oc on start to 83+ oc when running SVCD2DVD , now it goes from 40 and stays at a constant 50 oc.

I have completed my 1st avi to dvd with this program ..

Thanks for any advise i was given and i hope my problems may help someone else if they are getting crashes.

Glad to hear you got it fixed. Dust is a big problem, I use canned compressed air fairly regularly to keep my fan intake/exhaust ports clean as well as blowing ot all the heatsinks and fans. If I let it go too long I have seen as much as 12 degrees difference on the CPU.

    Happy converting.
