    CCD
    charge-coupled device
The "film" in digital still cameras and camcorders, the CCD is a chip with an array of sensors that absorb light and convert the intensity of the light to electrical signals. Those signals are then sent to an analog-to-digital converter, which turns them into computer-readable bits.

3CCD means the camcorder or camera has separate CCD imagers for red, green and blue.

3CCD is better than 1CCD and usually a large CCD is better than a smaller CCD.
