TechTV has gone to hell...

Ever since they were either merged or bought out by G4, TechTV has just gone right down the tubes!

They dumped the two old-timers on Screen Savers and replaced it with the two younger twits that give me nothing worth watching the show over...you USED to get nice tips and tricks on registry hacks, etc. Now, you get stupid shise like 'It came from ebay'...

Today, I found out that they moved Adam Sessler from X-Play to host his own show during late night. I thought that the combination of Sessler and Morgan Webb worked pretty good...why change it?

AMEN! I have barely watched it at all since the G4 thing. I used to have the TV on for hours in the background on that channel, but after G4, I would only watch XPlay. I have not heard they changed it, but if its true, my TV will never be on 98 agian.

Bring back Call for Help with Chris Parillo while they're at it. I never learned too much from it since it was very basic, but it was entertaining. And what about Internet Tonight?

Oh. I don't have cable. I've had CrapTV (a.k.a. DirecTV) before, because everyone else I have to put up with like it, but I have not been impress and never have the chance to use it anyway.

And I assume there is a "new" Tech TV? Whats on it?

The new TechTV is Comcast's last gasp at trying to save its channel ratings. Not only didn't they do that (ratings below the golf channel) but they flushed the only tech channel with it.

It's all about the games. Nothing but games. They even have a program that's nothing but cut scenes from games! You get to watch people play video games. You get news about video games.

All the hosts from G4 couldn't act their way out of an empty parking lot with nobody watching.

One of the female hosts (not Sara) on Screen Savers isn't allowed to answer questions because she completely messes up the canned answers.

Wasted of RF bandwidth.

gotta agree.. the old techtv kicked ass.. it had something for everyone, the newbs, the gamers, & the pro's.. most of the shows kicked ass.. but G4 sucks ass.. do they even call it G4techTV anymore? or did they finally take the plunge and decide to call it G4tv?

I suscribed to the canadian channel when it became available on digital cable then stopped when I noticed a drastic change in programming. Now I have it free for 2 months because I bought a new terminal with a free trial on all the specialty channels. I only saw one show that had some pc call in help stuff but apart from that the rest just plain sucks. I won't be taking that channel in my bundles when I have to pay for it. Too bad because I really liked it when it first came out. Hope those guys visit this site, read this stuff and do something about it before it's too late.

Both, I forget which channel it on DirectTV, it's right after the music channels MTV, before Network channels CBS, ABC, etc. It's stuck right in there with Bloomberg and TWC.

Please bring back Patrick and Leo! I really dug techtv when it was relatively new. Unfortunately, they've taken the entire station and turned it into a gamering nightmare! The only thing saving that station is Morgan Webb and Sara Lane (although, I could do without Sara's website picks and her constant referrals to Kevin Rose as "honey" and other pet names.).

IMO the screensavers started going downhill as soon as they had that little geeky guy giving the tweaks and hacks. I didn't like him.

About 2 years ago maybe, my cable provider started charging for TeckTV alonge with a few other channels that had been part of the basic service. I liked the show then just not enough to put out another $10 a month.
