  1. hi - i followed the guide on converting avi to dvd using TMPGenc-2 then authoring it with Ifoedit and burned it with NERO6 but my dvd has no audio - i tried it again with a different avi and i authored it with TMPGenc and still no audio - can anyone help me out?

    Hi evol777,

    Welcome to the forums.

    Where's the AVI from? What's the audio format?

    Use GSpot (the beta v2.52 version, and it's free) to get info on the file.

    Post a screenshot here so we can take a look.

    Also, when encoding using TMPGEnc, are you encoding to "System Stream (Audio & Video)", or "Elementary Streams (Audio & Video)"?

    Or something else? What?

    If your avi has VBR MP3 audio then TMPGEnc may have trouble encoding it. Then you may have to extract audio and convert to wav. Use the original avi for video source and the converted wav file for audio source in TMPGEnc and then re-encode to DVD compatible mpeg2 file.

    No Audio, on the PC or standalone.

    If only on your standalone, it may be your standalone does not support mp2 audio (some US players don't as it is not required for NTSC). You will need to use Ac3 or uncompressed (wav) audio if that is the case.
