  1. Hi,

When I open up FFMPEGX it asks for MENCODER erytime even though I have downloaded the latest binary. The other two are accepted.

Any clue on what causes that behaviour? I deleted the ~Library/applicationsupport/ffmpeg stuff before installation still the same thing.

  2. Make sure you are using the right version. For ffmpegX 0.0.9s, the byte size of mencoder should be 6636100.

  3. I think there may be issues with the recognition of the installed binaries. I download the current builds, which match the correct bytesizes listed here, but it still asks me to install them every time I open the app. They are copied to Library:Application Support:FFMPEGX correctly, and I am able to preview movies and encode with both mencoder and mpeg2enc, but it still lists the binaries as not being installed. Has this worked for ANYONE?

  4. It has worked for almost everyone, so to find the source of the problem, please email me to major4@mac.com with the output of the following command (copy/paste it in Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app)

    ls -l /Library/Application\ Support/ffmpegX

  5. Email sent. I have to reinstall each time, too.

  6. It may also be that you are running OSX within a non-administrator-type account. I will followup your email.

  7. Nope, I'm the sole admin for my Mac. It's the only one in an office full of PCs.
