Can anyone tell me what is the best possible device to capture from a cable/satellite signal. I hae tried ATi TV Wonder card and WinTV by Hauppage. Both have problems. Is there something else out there you could suggest?

I also have a WinTV card...it is fine for VHS...but I am going to get a Pinnacle PCTV Pro to do my LDs and to capture from my sat. receiver (S-video). Check that card out it is pretty cheap and it has an S-Video in, which people say is superior to 'old yeller'.

bowers32,
What kind of problems are you specifically having with the ATI card?
You also said that the Wintv has problems too, so, what kind of
problems are you talking about here?
IMO, Sat is best for capturing unless your unit is not perfect, and/or
your provider is not providing a clean enough signal.
Since I have used both cards, maybe I can help (or not)

I have captured from the WinTV, PCTV Pro, ATI All In Wonder and finally using a DVCII. For me, the DVCII is far and away the best of all 4. I am very happy with it.
Anya rules!
