  1. I hava DVDRHD04 and I'm am getting the annoying humming noise, either when I record from TV to HD or from front a/v to HD, is played back.

I'm using regular RCA hookup for a/v. Any help!!

I upgraded to WMJA1193.DS3 from the ILO, then upgraded f/w from http://ilohacker.tripod.com/

First, go to my site and download 1193RevA. There is a drive update in that version that's not in the 1193RevB (wmja1193.ds3). After installing RevA, you will have to do the RevB again. There is also a hacked version on my site but if you have already hacked 1193RevB with the Smart Firmware Hacker, then just reuse the one you have.

The hum from the tuner and from the front AV inputs are known issues and are hardware related. The tuner in the ILO is not that good and only mono, and the front AV inputs get the hum from the display since it is not LCD and causes noise do to the close proximity of the AV ribbon cable to the display.

Most of us use only the back AV inputs and will usually use an external VCR's tuner through the inputs to get a good stereo tuner signal.

    I hope this helps

its true, I have a liteon and ilo, both the same thing practically, and they both leave humming sounds from the front a/v inputs. I use the rear inputs, which are good enough for me. I would suggest buying a system selector if need be, if your connecting more that two devices to the recorder.
