plextor 716a firmware

Hi all, how can i make my new plextor 716A regon-free for dvd's and does it change anything from the dvd-burner features in some way ?

btw - does anydvd (for example) replace the firmware update for region-free?

I believe there is hacked firmware at rpc1.org but I havent used it becuase it voids the drives warranty. I paid $130 for my px716a and I dont want it to break and not be able to be replaced.

but let's say you're ripping a dvd with a region different from yours, it will be lock sooner or later, isn't it ?

To ripp a DVD does NOT affect the Region setting. The only way to do that is to try and play it normally.

If you use dvd decrypter to rip your dvd you dont need to change your drives region. However if you want to just play it you will.

And another small question - what burning software is the most relaible for burning DVD to DVD (with css-decryption) and for all the other burning modes as well ?

DVD Decrypter...just use iso read or write... I use it for all my DVD to DVD copies...Video, Data or Xbox...works like a charm
