  1. I bought a region 2 PAL DVD that I want to convert to a region-free NTSC DVD. I only bought the R2 version because the R1 was the wrong aspect ratio.

Now, what I'm having trouble with is getting the 5.1 ch AC-3 audio from the PAL original to convert to the NTSC. I hate the 4.17% speedup of 24 fps films in PAL, thus I want to do an NTSC conversion with 3/2 pulldown.

    What should I do?

Go read this here other thread on doing PAL to NTSC conversions:

    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=261056

Using the method dicussed in that thread requires NO CHANGE what-so-ever to the audio (well other than perhaps adjusting the DELAY value which is easy-to-do).

  3. Thank you for the link, but I am a Mac user and can't use Windows stuff. What is the best way to do it with ffmpegX?

I can slow down the audio, as I have audio editing tools plus DVDSP and A.Pack.

I tried doing a 3:2 pulldown on the PAL file. It did okay, but then I added the (slowed down) audio and it started acting strange on DVDSP. The disc I burned was virtually useless.
