  1. Hi,

I'm trying to record (capture) an archer shooting arrows.
I would like to get the shot when the arrow starts to leave the bow in a real slow motion.

I have Sony TRV-18e. I wonder if there anykind of software which might help me to do it.

    Thanks.

You need a camera capable of very high shutter speeds and the ability to shoot at very high framerates. Most consumer and even pro-sumer cameras do not have this capability. All software can do is interpolate the footage you have, and makeup frames that you don't have to fill in the gaps. Not very accurate if you want something detailed like this.

  3. Thanks for the quick reply.

What is the name of the software?
I'd give it a go and see how I go.

    Thanks again

There are few options. Search for slow motion in the forums as there were a couple of topics on this a few weeks back with comprehensive lists.

Off the top of my head :

Sony Vegas - either the slow motion filter or velocity envelopes
Twixtor - standalone or plugin version
Discreet Combustion - ships with Twixtor (? or similar)

But remember, these all use interpolation techniques, to keep your expectations realistic.

Here's a site that has a short video clip of a mousetrap activating.
It's in the upper right corner. Interesting!
