Maybe I can get some help/clarification here:

Pioneer 109 DVD-Writer.

Using software: Recordnow Max 4.5, Nero 5.5 & 6

I try to make audio discs with CD-R, they don't burn completely instead I end up with an error third of the way through everytime no matter what tracks I select.

I have drive set up as master on a 80wire IDE cable and another Pioneer DVDRom drive as slave on same cable.

I updated to 1.40 firmware but it changed nothing.

I also now have consistent errors with DVD writing on DVD+R - I managed 3 discs without error of differentials, but 2 discs reported errors on checking image.

This is worrying for me and I don't know what to do?

I replaced my Plextor drive which disappeared a week earlier from my device manager - it was old (although at the time expensive and heavily reliable) - this new drive shows up in device manger and everything but won't burn for me. The old one is actually CDR writer - but it no longer works as I tried it in another computer.

My new one I also get weird buffer runnings, with it spinning up and down in loops when writing tracks at once instead of disc at once. I don't know whether this is normal or not.

Help greatly appreciated - although I have to say on several other forums I am finding that there is not much help to be had?...
