I have the PVR500 and I am getting really choppy video. Audio is fine, but the video will freeze now and then. Is there anyway to play with the setting on the card?

BeyondTV and I am haveing some problems with it. Since the card was hardware encoded I did not think it work effect the video. I am going to start a new thread for the BeyondTV problems.

  5. After fighting with beyondtv for 2 days (and at least 4 other TV/Capture apps), I finally deleted it/them. It wasn't worth the effort, for PAY software. Got the latest drivers from www.shspvr.com and installed GB-PVR, with a few tweaks and modules from wiki, and it's the best yet.

    What is VMR9?

  8. It uses Microsoft DirectX 9 to put the video onscreen.

I tried the Tweak Tool and could not get the video to smooth out. If I am missing something please let me know. I also tried GB-PVR and could not get Spike TV to come up which is the only reason I use the PVR.

  10. If Spike is in the "normal" channels, it should show up. Did you register with Zap2it (free)?
This will give you the regular channels, browseable and searchable.
If Spike is coming via satellite, or digital, then you need to map it to a normal channel number. Instructions are all in the help files.
In GB-PVR, go into Config. On the PLAYBACK tab, try selecting VMR 7, or Overlay manager, instead of VMR9. Depending on your video card, and wihch DirectX version you have installed, one of those three options will work.
Try posting your question on the GB-PVR forums at http://gbpvr.com

I used Zap2it and the channel is all static. I will delete the channel list and redownload it.

  12. What have you set the source to?
Set recording source to Direct recording plugin.
    Hit the settings button.
Set your country. Source, internal tuner, cable (unless it's really on an antenna). Click OK.
EPG source, Zap2it. Click settings. put in your username and password, click OK.
Wait quite a few minutes for the info to download, and write the correct xml for you. This can take 10-20 minutes, providing you got the specs correct when signing up at zap2it.
If the EPG doesn't update at that time, click Empty EPG, then Update EPG now.
I do this once a week manually, but GB-PVR can also do it automatically whenever you specify.
