    hi- i have a film (svcd) i can't watch it as media player can't connect to server as it says there is a codec error-i used avicodec which shows i have both audio and video codecs - real player shows an error-media player web help just tells me to buy windvd or other player systems that are compatable with media player version 10-please help

    install a free mpeg2 decoder,
    GPL MPEG-1/2 Decoder
    mpeg2 codec

    hi- thanx d/l the codecs i have the 3 parts to this film in my documents,as .mpg files ,avseque.mpg 1,2,3 i get a picture instead of the media icon- but when i try to open them with media player i still get message "error downloading codec"???

    Try Media Player Classic. It has a built in MPEG2 decoder and riff/cdxa parser.
