    Hi guys.

I recently got a new comp that has Win XP Home SP2 on it...and much to my surprise, I found out I couldn't play my copy of Championship Manager 01/02 like I could on SP1.

I have a copy of Partition Magic 8, but I can't seem to get it to partition my 80 GB HDD, and I don't want to re-format b/c then I have to deal w/ M$ and the re-activation process.

Any idea what I should? Is there an alternative partitioning software available?

    Thanks,

    Jie

Can't think of any reason Partition Magic couldn't do what you want... It is probably the most recommended prgm for this type of task...

It doesn't work for me, mate.

See below. When I try to create a partition, I can't. The Wizard doesn't work & the menu option is grayed out.

Have you tried using the operations menu, as it suggests ? At a guess, I'd suggest resizing your existing partition down so you have space to create a new partition.

There appears to be a small "hidden" partition, probably for recovery, to the left of you C. If I did the math correct this "hidden" partition is 4869.1 MB. My guess is is this is the partition that Partitionmagic is complaining about.

What happens why you try the operations menu?

Hi guys, I got it to work. I re-distriubuted that hidden partition back into C:\ then made a 2 GB partition.

    Thanks for the replies guys,

Did you look for an update?

Vendors updated programs so that they would function correctly under SP2.

Hi Bazooka. As best I can tell, no patches, etc were released for CM 01/02. Eidos, the maker of the game, now has CM 5 out; but given that I've been playing this game for 3-4 years now and am very deep in it (only 6-7 seasons left till the game is over), I don't want to buy the new one yet.

What I'll do is make a 2 GB partition (successful), then just put Win XP on it, without the SPs, so I can play. ^_^

    Cheers,

    Jie
