    hello everyone,
i have a few games on my computer which take up quite some space. so i decided that it would be a smart choice to move them to CDs. however, my games are the ones that you save your progress as you go, and when i burn all the files to CD, the settings folder gets burned, and i am not able to save anymore. so is there any way to keep the settings folder on my comp, so that i can save my game, and still have the settings load in the game?

  2. Why not just upgrade your hard drive? 200g ata100 WD at newegg for $96. That price is simply unbeatable.
Boy do I love my avatar!

One possibility is to put shortcuts on the CD to the files that you want to keep and update to your harddrive. I know this will work when reading the files, not sure about saving though. You could give it a try using CD-RW disc.

EDIT: I just did a test. I created a simple text document and saved to a folder buried down in my user documents. I then created a shortcut to that document and put it on my harddrive. I then open the shortcut in word and added some text and re-saved it. It update correctly. I made sure that the shortcut title matched the document title exactly.
