I have used Womble to save MPEG files from VOB files. Womble cannot output to tape, so I import all the mpegs into Premiere Pro, as well as some AVIs, and most work fine. One in ten of the mpegs won't sync with the sound - the video SKIPS! The MPEG file plays fine outside of Premiere, so this is a Premiere issue, not a Womble issue. I have tried forcing Womble to re-encode audio and video with the same result. Any idea what is causing this and if there is a workaround?

    Hi madmartian,

Do you have the MainConcept MPEG2 plug-in installed? This enables Premiere to handle MPEGs.

Describe what you're objective is, as there may be an easier / more reliable way of doing it...

  3. i also have this problem, and i already have the mainsconcept plugin, i am desperate for help!!!!

as he said, its only the odd 1 or 2 that arent synced, and it tends to be the mpegs that are longer 1min+

    Please help!

  5. ok, so ive tried mpeg and mpeg2 format, mpeg 2 crashs premiere instantly, mpeg1 is the problem i disribed.

i've tried converting my mpegs to avi's, but the quality is brought down so much, i need it raw!
i also tried changing the extension to .avi, but premiere says its ether damaged or is unsupported for premiere.

when i play the raw files in wmp 10 it says downloading codec but fails everyhime?

what shall i do, cus ive got divx and mainconcept plugins!

    Cheers
    Matt
