    On the legal registered copy, yes. Some of the bootlegs apparently have troubles. I would not know, I bought mine. It works perfectly, always has.

    Yes, I capture all my videos at the office in MPEG-2 and import them into Premiere, they have always worked fine.

    Only caveat, MPEG-2 will always be decoded to RGB through Premiere even for a cut. Premiere does not support "smart render" except with the expensive Mainconcept MPeg plug-in. Same goes for Vegas, AVID, FCP, etc.

    Vegas Pro 8 will support Mainconcept's smart render only when input and output MPeg2 properties are identical and the project setting matches for resolution and frame rate.
