Hi there - i'm fairly new to this scene
Trying to convert Divx 576x304 @ 23.976fps to 480x576 PAL @ 25fps
Using LSX or Tmpgenc, i get a very slight stutter - once every second - on fast motion or scene panning.
I've changed bitrate and a few other things like frameserving it to lsx, but i just cant get rid of the stuttering.
What am i doing wrong?
Cheers

you are making a 25 frame movie from a 24 frame source that is a big no no cant get a pal from ntsc you wil get a missing frame every 25 frames that is the jerkyness just makle a 24 frame ntsc svcd.

I think i might have it
Virtualdub - de mux audio/video.
convert frame rate, using single pass quality Divx.
Use LSX to change to Mpeg2 SVCD
Mux with Tmpgenc
Seems to be nice and smooth - could someone confirm if this is ok?

too difficult, make it more simple:
1. extract sound using vdub (save wav)
2. change length of sound (adjust to 25 fps pal from 23.976 ntsc film means you have to speed up the sound a little, approx. 95.90%) for example with cool edit
3. start tmpgenc, select 'do not frame rate conversion', use original divx as video source, resized wav as audio source, generate
the speed change will not be noticed by the average viewer

tell me if you get it to work, got a little spreadsheet here to make it easier to calculate the numbers, remember that audio length might not match video length!

oops - deleted the Wav, only left with the Mpg encoded audio
any tools which either stretch/shrink mpg audio, or allow mpg -> wav (all i can find is mp3 to wav)

just found out cool edit messes sometimes with divx mp3 encoded files after you extract them fromt the avi file... acoustica does the job properly...
