  1. Hi, I have NEC ND-2500a Burner, Ritek Dvd-r 4x discs, Nero 6 full version
I want to convert my divx movie into dvd. So i used the winavi converter. everything went fine and it created a folder, about 3gb in size. Then i went to nero 6 burning rom, and burned a dvd video disk. However when I play it on my dvd player, there is slight delay of one fifth of a second throughout the movie. It is really unwatchable and annoying. There were a couple dvd's i made and they were perfect, however most have this delay of play problem. I will greatly appreciate if someone can help me out. Thanks

Do you mean the audio and video are out of sync? This happens when the AVI file is encoded with a variable bit rate (VBR) instead of a constant bit rate (CBR). You will need to use a program such as tmpgenc and process audio and video seperately. There are many guides on this site to tell you how to do that.
In the future, I would suggest that before you burn the DVD, that you play back from the hard drive first to see if there is a problem. Or, burn it to a DVD-RW. That way you can avoid wasting a
    DVD-R.

  4. no, the audio and video are in sync. Its just that when I play it back on dvd player, there is delay in playback, it sort of looks like moving images when i think about it, but not really that slow, its like one tenth of second delay constantly. Its similar to when you try to play a high end game on slow computer, and it will run slowly like moving images. Before I burned i plyed the dvd folder in powweer dvd, everything is perfect, this only occurs after i burn any video on dvd-r disc.

Have you tried it on another player? Have you tried playing in your computer from the DVD? Also, you may want to try another media as well. Could be your player just doesn't like Riteks that much. People have also been reporting a decline in the quality of Riteks. I use TY media and Maxell (made in Japan) for most of my DVD burning.

Have you tried to play your burned DVD on another desktop player. Software players will play lots of stuff that desktop players will choke on.

  9. As I understand the audio & video are in sync but the video plays in slow motion. Is that correct ? If yes, it could be a bitrate problem. Can you check the audio & video bitrates of the DVD you have created?

  10. Hello, I have this problem also. I encode a video from my comp on to a DVD with AVI2DVD and it was laggy like that. I did another video from comp and it dident delay on this one. So I tryed another video and it had that really annoying delay in it also. I dont know how this happens but I think it might have to do with the source video having a lower bitrate. not really sure. Later.
