  1. hi i have a problem with my dvdr 70

    i set it up to record a program, but whent it whent to start to reored to just on stop and on the small lcd screen on the front panel it jjust said "phillips" and stayed that way, i unpluged it for a few mins, but was still the same, i sitched it off then back on while holding the power button dawn to reset it, and now its jst stuck in the demo mode, if i press power nothing happens!!!!


    can anyone help me sort this out please

  4. When you plug it back in after you've had that problem, does any
    error code display on the front before the "PHILIPS" comes on?
    It usually starts with an "A" or a "B".
    Did you check to see if there's a firmware update for the DVDR70?

  5. It could be a DVD disk error. Try another new DVD. Make sure you are using the correct type of DVD, either DVD-R or DVD+R depending on your recorder. Check your manual.

  6. yes phillips comes om for about 30sec then the red light comes on for abit the the player goes back into standbuy mode again

    If there is no error code displaying....get that disc out of that machine and try a different one or different brand.
    I have a Philips DVDR985 and when it DID screw up (once) it displayed an error code.

  8. On the front of my DVDR77, if there's a problem with a disc (which is prettty rare) the front display says "disc error" as well as on the TV screen.
    If it only stays on for 30 seconds, it will tough to even load in a firmware
    update (even if it does need it). Chances are it will need to be sent in
    to a Philips service center.

  9. i dont thank its the disc as its doing it with normal dvds to and no there is no error on the dvd
