  1. Hi guys,

Which software is best for photos to DVD MPEG with good 3D transition effects?
I've tried ProShow, it is pretty good but only has a few 3D transition effects.

One of them I've seen on the web is the 3D-Album, but am I right that it doesn't seem so popular? anyone knows other good software out there to do this?

    Thanks

That is probably the most comprehensive, 3d focused product I have seen for doing this sort of work. It doesn't get mentioned here much because few people seem go for that type of effect.
    Read my blog here.

  3. Probably ProShow is your only hope right now. Most people don't convert regular pictures to an MPEG movie. This loses quality and you lose the original pictures if you don't back up your JPG pictures.

I have a DVD player(Panasonic DVD-S47) that reads JPG files from a CD-R. I put all my pictures in folders on the disc, and then I can flip through them using this dvd player. It also has a slideshow timer to automatically flip through pictures every few seconds. Plus, the people I give this disc, then have the original JPG pictures so they can print them out or do whatever with them.

Look for a DVD player that can play JPG's. It is a better way to go then converting to MPEG movie.

  4. I agreed with WILE,proshow is the best choice..

The 3dalbum software is great for 3d effect, but the conversion process
is very slow also adding music is a pain...
You can make your album[go to bed]then add music later with
    another prog [SYNC]

3D-Album is what you're looking for. Believe me, when you get use to it, you'll love it. And it does a professional job that no other software out there does(3D flipping Album's suck if compare to this soft)...

You're correct just a half (base on your statement), its capture process is in real time and as fast as you can imagine if you know how to setup/use it (The most important is you have to select the "hardware" capture instead of "software" in setup option)

You're wrong! "....few people seem go for that type of effect." are usually professsional users which use this soft for business...

And in addition, this software offers alot of different usefull and beautiful themes... check it out @ www.3dtime.com

You can buy a standard Pro version for $70.00 and built your project and then capture you work in mpeg-2 (DVD format). After that, you can use your authoring soft to edit and author DVD...
Note: You don't have to add music when you build and capture you work in 3DAlbumk. Instead I usually add music, logos when I edit and author DVD....

    These are just my opinion!

Demen, I couldn't agree with you more. We were constantly looking for stock video animations to enhance our DVD productions. Until we find the porgram 3D-Album and the templates from 3DTime, it has been very hard for us to find suitable title animations for various special events that we have to deal with. They continously publish more and more fantasitic templates(you can see their new release at www.3dtime.com). Their templates saved us a lot of time to make many custom animations for DVD menus and video openings.

Please note: 3D-Album Capture is not a real-time video capturing system.
It will capture every frame (the complete animation) as well as the sound. The average
performance compared to real-time animation is about 1:3, depending
on the complexity of the scene. That is, a one minute movie would require 3
minutes to finish. To capture a long movie, we suggest you try and the
test several short ones before the final production.

  9. 1:3 is fine. Other video editing software cannot give real-time either for dvd mpeg encoding, especially when lots of overlays and effects are involved.
