  1. I am looking to kill 2 birds with one stone by purchasing the AVT-8710. I was wondering how good the proc amp funtions of the AVT-8710 are. I have several tapes that the colors are extremely washed out.

The Color Correction on the AVT-8710 are good. But if you need Major Fixtures go with Elite, Vidicraft, Sign video, Sony, JVC Video Color Corrector. The Best are Elite & Sign Video But Vidicraft are Great to especially Detailer 2 & 3. I believe that GSHELLEY wrote a great sticky on that subject.

  4. The Elite Video BVP-4 is great for correcting very challenging video sources... it can do some things that a typical proc amp can't do, and in the hands of someone who knows how to use it is a very powerful and productive restoration tool.

The SignVideo Proc Amp produces a very high quality image and has plenty of correction range for most video sources... plus, includes a very handy black level and luminance meter to ensure good looking transfers that are within standard signal limits.
