Will the Lite-On 5006 DVD recorder work with 8x Blank DVDs?

Hey all,

The subject pretty much says it all -- i ahve looked everywhere but haven't found an answer yet. Does anyone know if the Lite-on LVW-5006 record to 8x Blank DVD-R's? The Reason here is that I have a 100 pack of name brand 8 speed Blank DVD-R's -- and i don't want to open the package only to find out that they wont work....then i cannot take them back...

I asked this same question when I first got my dvd recorder. It doesnt matter, as a dvd recorder records in 1x anyways. I think what matters is the media itself, I have a lvw-5005 and have had no issues with memorex, maxell, or tdk media at 8x, 4x, or 2.5x

but if you mean compatability with dash media, you can always go to http://www.liteonit.com and download the manual or look at the specs. Does your liteon say "All write" on it? If it does, it means it writes to both plus and dash media. But other than the all write models, they record to plus media
