Another question
After encoding with Virtualdub or Tmpenc, the files get locked. I can't delete them - getting a "file in use by another process"
I've tried seeing what is locking them out - a file handler utility reports there are no processes using them. A reboot still doesn't clear them - they are still locked. I've checked the NTFS permissions, and they are ok.
The only way to delete them is to boot to safe mode command prompt and delete them there.
Anyone got any suggestions?

I had the the same problem before. I am howewer unsure how did I manage to delete the file. I think I went to Windows Explorer, selected the file i wanted to delete and changed the view option to "one of the item in the list" and it worked. There are five items under view so I suggest you try them all.
Sorry i can't be of any more help. -
I've found that if I kill Explorer and restart it I can go straight to a command prompt and delete the files. This is easier than a reboot because any other running programs (e.g. Outlook) are not affected. Go to the Task Manager (Ctrl-Shift-Esc), go to processes and kill Explorer. Then go to File, New-Process and enter in Explorer as the new process. It will then redraw the desktop and you can go to a command prompt and delete the files.
