  1. I started burning a bunch of stuff with my dvd burner, but whenever i burn it fails around 80%, this just started happeneing today, I tried this on 4 different dvd-r's using different programs and different objects to burn, but i still get the same problem... my dvd burner is a 2x toshiba thats about 3 years old. Any suggestions.... DVD decrypter gives me an error telling me to check condition, thats about it.

    Could be dirt on the lens. Try blowing it out with some canned air, then either clean it with a Q tip (Or better a foam swab) with denatured alcohol. If no improvement, consider replacing it.

  3. you need to check if its an OS related problem.
    try uninstalling the burner from the device manager and reboot
    the pc.

    or you can move the burner to another pc and see if it still fails.
    thats the best way i can think of.

  4. I tried cleaning the lense, i was able to burn one disc, but then i got a

    I/O error
    interpretation : Check condition
    ...
    ...
    Interpretation: Can not write medium. Incompatible format....

    any ideas?

    If it burned one good DVD after cleaning, then probably replace the drive. There are a few moving parts in there that wear out. The lens moves back and forth on a slide. If the slide gets gummed up, you will have problems. You can clean it, but with the price of DVD burners now, it's probably not worth a lot of effort.
