problems coping non-protected dvd with nero and sony drx-500

am having problems copying non-protected dvds using the nero express
(nero 6 ultra) on my sony drx-500ul. I am able to have a image of the dvd accessed, however, when the writer tries to burn I keep getting a message that reads "burning aborted" or invalid track list, if I use burn ROM. I have tried to reslove this situation with the nero tech support but they keep telling me its a media issue but I am using sony rw. Anyone who can help me I would appreciate the assistance and will provide any information necessary. I have kept the error logs and will post if necessary. I run windows 2000 professional and have all the specs necessary to run a successful burn. I suspect a driver program. Any suggestions to resolve this problem are welcomed. TIA

More information on my problem: After beging to burn a disc, perhaps 2-3 minutes of burning the dvd "reset occurs". This effectively aborts the burning program and the burning stops. Can anoyone tell me what "reset occurs" means and how I can address it.
