  1. Have a pretty decent success with join and create IFO from both VOB Edit and IFO Edit, but not with DVD Shrink. Have tried to modify as "ALLPLAY" by modifying IFO file as forum discussed to play extended material without success. What I'm looking for is to join some special material in addition to main feature on original DVD, and use DVD Shrink to squeeze 6 to 7 GB material into 4.37 GB DVD+R. Below are what I have done. Any better suggestion?

1.) Ripped DVD with DVD Decrypter or DVD XPress with VTS_01_1 thru VTS_01_5 on my hard drive.

2.) After using VOB Edit to join some special VTS files with the last VTS_01_5 to expand to 6 or 7.

3.) Since new and extended VTS_01_05 thru 7 were created, original IFO, BUP files would not able to play the extended files thus removed and created new ones with IFO Edit's "Create IFOs" as
VTS_01_1.IFO PGC options with "Create 1 PGC Only."
VTS_01_1.IFO PGC chapter options with "Create Chapter for each cell."
    And
    1st VOB Title-Set at " VTS_01_1.VOB"

4.) The Edit program created VIDEO_TS.IFO, VTS_01_1.IFO, VIDEO_TS.BUP, and play well using Power DVD loading with created VTS_01_1.IFO. But when trying to use DVD Shrink to access the folder, error message kept appearing with either "error reading VIDEO_TS" (VIDEO_TS was no where in the folder), or "error reading VTS_01_5.VOB."

I'd appreciate with any feedback of process and suggestion!

  2. I think you might have missed a step. After the IFO files were created, you need to close IFOEdit and re-open it. Then open the just created VIDEO_TS.IFO file and at the center bottom of the window, there is a button called ' Get VTS Sector ' or something like it, click on that and click yes with the confirmations. Then exit. Make sure all the files are in a VIDEO_TS folder.
DVDShrink should now recognize it and there shouldn't be any problems.

  3. Thanks for solving part of the problem.

The IFO Edit did correct a couple commands. After saving VIDEO_TS.IFO and updated VTS_01_1.IFO as software automatically requested during saving command, DVD Shrink did not show any error for VIDEO_TS.VOB but still could not run with message as:

"Encountered an error …Invalid data in file" of the first modified (join) file!

What is the function for "Get VTS sectors"? Should it restrict only to VIDEO_TS.IFO?

  4. According to Cynthia in digital-digest forum on
"Failed to open file - The system cannot find the file specified "

    http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=45096

Both "VOB Extras" and "Get VTS sectors" are needed to allow DVD Shrink to work.

However, after ripping only VOB files to hard drive, I have to "Create" IFO files with IFO Edit which scanned through all VOB files once. In order to process through DVD Shrink 3.2 and to avoid "Failed to open file" problem, another set of IFO and VOB files were scanned and created in different folder on hard drive again with VOB Extras process.

All these mean double the effort in time and hard drive space to scan and to create duplicate VOB files. Is there a way to scan the VOB only once, and without creating duplicate VOB files all over again?
