Hi everyone. I have 3 movies converted from .avi to .vob, .bup and .ifo format and I wanted to compress them so I didn't have to use 3 separate dvds to burn them on. I've realised I might not be able to put all 3 onto 1 disc because the picture will look off, so my question is just how do I compress my .vob or .ifo files to the smallest compression rate? I have dvd shrink 3.2, how can I use that? Will I need to mount all my files to a virtual drive? Will I need to download extra software to convert the files into some other format first? Thanks very much!

Assuming you have each DVD ripped to your HDD in separate Video_TS folders, you can use the re-author mode in DVD Shrink to import each title, drag from the right to the left hand panes, then create a new title.
Be aware though - re-author mode means no menus.
If you did want to go down this path, and are happy with no menus, I would use DVD Shrink to re-author, but set the compression to No Compression. Create a big, oversized DVD, then use DVD Rebuilder to do the actual compression. It will take longer, but the results will be far better. I would also be targeting a DVD9 for three movies. The quality will still be very average, but better than using a DVD5.Read my blog here.

If you still have the avi files you could save a few steps by using a program like ConvertXtoDVD to make the VIDEO_TS folder ready to burn. Just add the 3 avi's as separate titles. You can have a menu and chapters etc.
