i tried to join 2 parts of a film 2gether but apperently the audio has 2 different sampling rates, is there anyway i can get round this or do i just have to put on to 2 cd's instead of converting to dvd

Convert.
If ultimately going to VCD, make sure they're both (all) set to 44.1kHz,
if going to DVD, make sure they're both (all) set to 48kHz.
