I am trying to back up my new Donnir Darko Director's cut movie. i have backed up disc 2 with no problem using anydvd and clonedvd. but disc 1 which has the movie is different. it gets an error reading data at about 83-87% on clone dvd. i have access to dvd decyrpter and dvd shrink which neither can handle the job. am reading off a toshiba 16x dvd rom/ burner is nec 3520a newest firmware installed. any ideas?

Have you tried ripping it with your writer? Sometimes that's all it takes.

My LiteOn writer will often rip DVDs that my LiteOn ROM chokes on.

i have also tried riping using dvd decyrptor (forgive any spelling errors very frustrated right now) in both ifo/iso modes to see if i could open in dvdv shrink..nope didn't work. maybe this is a new copy protection? if the pioneer doesn't work as far as ripping i will try in the lite on... other then that i am out of ideas
