Apologies if this has already been discussed. I could not find anything on it.
I backed up one of my blu-ray movies with BD rebuilder in MKV file 640Kbs DD5.1, BD-9. After completion, the audio has the director's commentary. I am using VLC player. Also, no subtitles. Fairly new to BDRB so any help would be appreciated.

  2. If I remember right apocalypto was in spanish? So you need to make sure the spanish track is not x'ed out. Also, make sure there are no x's on any of the english subtitles.

  3. Actually the language is Mayan, but I don't have this disc so I don't know if it will show up as Maya or Spanish.

In the audio section of BDRB, there is audio LPCM, Multi-Ch, Mayan languages and AC3, Multi-ch, Mayan languages checked in red. So I should change these to ON? Below those two there is AC3, Stereo. English but that was always on. Also, do I need to do anything to adjust the subtitles? I see there are several red checks on PGS-002, English and PGS-005, English.

Didn't really think you could change those settings. I think they defaulted that way.

  5. Default mode is that only one language is selected (English is default). Seeing that the english track is the directors commentary, you don't want that. Can you post a screen capture? I would say you need to double click on the AC3 Mayan track (also double click on the enlish track to deselect it) and double click on ALL English subtitles. Then when you play the movie the original soundtrack will play with the forced english subtitles.

Yeah I figured that that was the wrong track since that was the only one selected so I de-selected it and selected the Mayan track. I also selected all the English subtitles. Have it encoding right now. Hope this one turns out well. Thanks for your help.

Well it partially worked. The director's commentary is now off but no subtitles. Have subtitles been an issue with BDRB? Or could this be a problem with the MKV format? Also, just to clarify, when I chose the subtitles in BDRB, I chose all the English subtitles on there but disabled the Spanish and French. Maybe I should only chose one English subtitle? Any thoughts.

  9. How many english subtitles are there? One of them is the forced english subtitle (normally the last one listed). That is the one that should automatically turn on when played back. This does work with bdrb (example District 9 when the aliens are talking), but may somehow disable when converting to mkv. You may have to import into another program to force subtitles to come on.
