i have an aspect ration options screen that i have blanked out but the following portion of the menu still shows an image of the aspect ratio
portion for a second as the lead-in to the next menu. i tried blanking the portion of the menu in vobblanker but the option to do so are greyed out and i tried dvdremake 253 and it messed up the function of the menu. any suggestion on what prog would be better for this task. thanks

Easy: Open the DVD with PgcEdit (free app), locate the small 1s clip that runs right before the next menu (use the preview in PgcEdit), then use the Kill Playback in the Macro menu to bypass playback of that clip.
It won't remove the video from the VOB, but it's so small that it does not matter. I will skip its playback though, and go straight to the next menu.
Question: How did you blank the aspect ratio screen?

i think i followed what you said. i will have to try that out... but i dont think its going to work. there is a lead-in video (thats how i describe it) right before the button appear and its all the same file. thats why im trying to erase only a portion of it. heres my example. TAXI: the first screen is a video that ends up with the button for the choosing whcih version to watch. i bypassed/blanked that whole thing out. now as soon as you hit the extended version button it jumps to the next video portion of the menu which includes a couple seconds of the of the extended version and theatrical buttons flying away and then the other buttons fly. this is all one video file. im not sure if that cleard it up for you. i just want to remove that couple of second of video that show the extended and theatrical buttons flying away.
jeanl, i used 2cools guide. this is most of it

im reading through it and it looks like you dont need vobblanker anymore to blank out the glimpse of the menu you are trying to remove. i guess i was using v2.0. works well for me. it took about 15 minutes the first time i did it but now its like second nature. thanks for your help -
so you got it to work? Great! You're right, there's something I didn't think of. For the PgcEdit method to work, the little snipped of video would have had to reside in its own PGC, which it probably didn't. However, it's in its own cell, most likely (which you can check by double-clicking the PGC in PgcEdit and using the preview buttons - small arrows at the right of the display).
PgcEdit can replace an individual cell with a short blank one, but the solution using vobblanker is most likely much better...

i didnt get it to work yet. its not in its own pgc or cell. that the dilemma. i guess i will just put up with it. little things like that are annoying to me. i always want to get it just right

mmm, not until vobblanker can cut menu cells will you be able to fix that with it. vobblanker can cut stuff at the vobu level (smaller than a cell) but only in titles, not in menus. Not sure why, but you could ask jsoto here...
He's usually very responsive.

i noticed that. it was really annoying cause i knew it worked for titles so when i went to the menu and it was greyed out i kept thinking it was just a glitch and i kept trying to start it back up again thinking it would work. thanks for telling me about jsoto. i wont bother asking him about it since its probably been mentioned before and it probably already in the works. thanks again
