  1. Have any of you had any issues backing up Band of Brothers Disc 1? I have tried a few times with this method with no avail.

    MTR- dvd2oneX- burn.

Once I make a back up with MTR.. sometimes it gives me major trouble just looking in the VIDEO_TS folder... sticks up and sometimes makes the external drive freeze... this is the only backup that is giving me issues, and I've done tests... it doesn't seem to be the external drive. When I go to DVD2oneX it stops me after about 10 minutes and says it can't find a part and needs the entire disk to make a backup. This has happened every time I back up Bandof Brothers... any ideas??? any success stories? Thanks- FCPguy

Warner Brothers is doing something on its HBO DVDs to annoy folks who copy them. Same sort of thing happens on disc 3 of season one of Six Feet Under.

    It remains a mystery.

  5. Ok, I took a good look at all the files in my backup. The backup worked perfectly as far as a 7 gig rip. It is during the compression part that I am having problems with. Is this the same as the others? I can watch the disc perfectly on my mac and it seems to be running fine. I looked at the files ripped in compared to the original, and all the files are identical.
It is just driving me nuts. There doesn't seem to be a reason for this error. I've re-ripped it a couple times, with similar results. Maybe I need a newer version of DVD2oneX? Any tips guys?

What if you did a cell rip only in DTOX and ripped only the epsidoes? Would this disc play fine? I'm thinking it might
be similar to ArCCOS but in a reverse way as it would have
to be IFO centric, as ArCCOS wasn't around then?

Don't really know, kinda grasping at straws.
Most of my HBO stuff I recorded in through Canopus
and made my own DVDs from VHS--Kinda glad, but the
trade in time vs. outlay in cash ended up about even....

I surmise its something to do with how the dual layer break bit was set.

It must be doable somehow, since there are 4.4GB pre-shrunk rips available on the net ...

    Try another shrinker?

I'd bet cash those internet copies were ripped and compressed on a PC. I prefer an all-Mac solution to everything
