  1. Hello, I have been testing my PVR and attached is a sample pic of the quality of my Virtualdub resize using precise bilinear.
The left pic is the original capture 352x480, but i manually resized the player's window. The right pic is the capture (352x240) after I used the resize filter in virtual dub.

Notice the quality difference? Is it like this or am I missing something?
    Thanks!

Any reason you are resizing?Of course you will get a crappier quality,i would keep the resolution at 352x480.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

Unless you are resizing for a VCD, stick with what you have. It's a compliant resolution.

  4. If you have to resize, skip bilinear. Either go w/ Lanczos3 or Hi Quality Bicubic (.75)

If this material is interlaced, I would highly recommend simply removing one field from the frame. Otherwise, if you use a bilinear resize, you will introduce field blending. Since you are using virtualdub, simply use the filter 'deinterlace' and 'discard field 1 or 2'. Then the final output will be 352x240 as you need it.

  6. Or use a smart deinterlace filter before resizing.
