Hello everyone,
I am playing around with vdub to capture video with the DivX 4.11 codec. What I have noticed that when editing a captured avi file which is more than 51 minutes long (say 1 hour 30 minute capture), it cannot find the next key index after 51 minutes into the video. Again, I'm using vdub to edit the video. This makes editing a pain as vdub takes a very, very long time finding a frame that is held after the 51 minute position. What is going on?
I think the playback is also affected, say on Windows Media Player. I can't go straight into the video at any point after 51 minutes.
The video is captured under Win2K, NTFS and using WinTV PCI as the capture card. The PC is a 1.2GHz Athlon, with 256MB RAM. I usually use a bitrate of 1700 kbps, but I've tried capturing at 1150 kbps bitrate and I still get the same problem. Variable bitrate mode is set to 2-pass, sencond pass.
I don't think the audio encoder has any link to the problem, since I've tried several including PCM encoding.
Let me know what I'm doing wrong. Boom-shakalak!
Bedwetter.

When you open the file click open extended options and check re-derive keyframe tags.
But if I say it once I'll say it a thousand times... pleas capture to huffyuv or MJPEG.
