Hi all!
Well, i hope this can help you, if you are looking for this kinda info.
I made some tests, and i encoded one movie, with:
-Resizes
-Crops
-Subtitles
Using virtualdub to apply this 3 filters, and then frameserve to CCE, i got a 5:00 hours encode time.
Using avisynth to apply the same 3 filters, and then frameserve to CCE, i got a 1:30 hour encode time.
So, i concluded that avisynth for this case can be more then 3 times faster then virtualdub. (thats a lot, that can make a 24h encode drop to 7h or so).
Now, can anyone confirm this?
Is virtualdub this slow compared to avisynth because of some colorspace changes it makes?
Tkz!
