  1. There is such thing?

There are a lot of Guides to convert PAL/NTSC movies, but I need a how-to guide to convert a DVD-5 PAL DVD to a DVD-5 NTSC movie with all menus, audio and subpicture streams...

My brother lives in UK and he gift to me last Xmas several PAL DVD movies... I can't watch it because I live in S. America, and like to convert it to NTSC with ALL EXTRAS and menus...

I tried DVDSanta, but it converts PAL/NTSC main movie only, without menus, and without subpictures and audio streams...

Please, give me a hint... I have a lot of time to try it...

As far as I know, there is no straightforward way to do PAL<->NTSC conversions and keep everything.

    Here's a three step guide:

    1. Go to Best Buy and purchase a $30 cyberhome DVD player.
    2. Region-hack it.
    3. Watch your movies.

That's as close as you'll EVER get.

  6. I thought S.America uses PAL.
    Do you mean Region Coding?UK=2,S.America=4
First use DVDDecrypter(ISO read,ISO write) and burn on a DVDRW.
If that doesn't work rip in File mode, use THIS GUIDE and burn on a DVDRW.

Very uninformed. Here's a couple links where you can get an idea of how many countries use PAL (many more than than your claim of 3 or 5).

    http://www.anima.demon.co.uk/pvs/faqvhsstds.html

    http://www.thewiggles.com.au/faq/videofrmts.html

    http://www.videointerchange.com/pal_secam_conversions.htm

Included are most of Europe, much of Asia and the middle east, and Australia. I've never actually counted, but I wouldn't be surprised if the number of countries using PAL is much larger than the number of NTSC countries.

I wrote up some notes on how to use the "Big 3" process to convert PAL->NTSC including menus. My post gives some more detailed hints on what the other posters are recommending - NuMenu4U and Sonic.

Before you start, let me warn you that you're going to need a bunch of time to source and set up quite a few tools, one of which unfortunately is Sonic Scenarist.

Sorry my friend, I was talking about South America. About 75% of S.America uses NTSC... Remember that USA is closer from S.America than Europe... And S.A. market sharing is 80% from USA, except Argentina, Brasil, Uruguay and Paraguay... They shares their markets widely with Europe

Moviegeek asked that... And only 3 or 5 countries in South America has PAL as standard.

And You are right. There are more countries having PAL as standard than NTSC. This is why I'm asking for PAL to NTSC transcoding.

Although Hollywood is in USA and uses NTSC, there are the same or more PAL movies available in the world than NTSC...

USA is the biggest consumer in video media, this is the reason why NTSC is one of the main standards in the world...

I know very well were PAL is a STANDARD (I was born in Spain)... But your links are very interesting

Sorry if I didn't explain clearly my opinion....

(Did You understand Why I said my English is a mess?) :P

Will you? Really? Just happened to have a spare $25k laying around, did you? ROFL.

*hint* I think Baldrick was being a wee bit sarcastic, but maybe I'm wrong.

The method works, but it's hard to get it...

I see you are here aswell

    @Baldrick
I agree that having to use scenarist is very limiting, but at present is the only viable author i can use. I would like to use dvdauthor as an alternative, but finding docs is not easy Does dvdauthor support programs in PGC's, slideshows etc. you know what is required. The main problem i can foresee is the gprm limitation. If i am setting the button command to match the original and the gprm > 12 then i am led to believe that dvdauthor will fail.
Perhaps we can work on a resolution?
perhaps you could reply in this post:
