I can somewhat successfully convert a PAL DVD to NTSC with infoedit, but the menus don't work correctly on DVD player; seem to work when playing them on computer.
This was an attempted full DVD conversion.

    Any suggestions?

A pc can play just about anything as long as the proper codecs are installed. You likely just used a hack method, and did not convert anything. To go from a full-D1 PAL DVD to NTSC DVD you have to change the resolution from 720x576 to 720x480. Then the output framerate must be adjusted from 25fps to 29.97 fps. How you do that is up to you. But this type of conversion requires encoding because of the change in resolution.

I have done this a few times and it's not for a beginner.

The IFOEdit method is not a "true" method of conversion and is to be avoided.

1.) Either buy a DVD player that can do PAL to NTSC on-the-fly
2.) Covnert the proper way ... not for a newbie and you can pretty much forget retaining menus.

Lot's of threads and guides for step 2.
