I want to archive stuff I have on VHS tapes but I can see the way things are going DVD is becoming a little obsolete.
What I want is:
A way to encode Interlaced captured video (in DV form) to an identical compressed video file which can be played back using a PC at 50 frames per second rather than weaved or bobbed at 25.
I have tried encoding in Xvid(which seems the best codec for the job) selecting the encode interlaced box but when I try and play the result back in WMP it still has the weave effect.
Is there a player that can play it back at the original 50fps?
I'm looking at buying the Apple HD Cinema 23" LCD screen in the future which is supposed to have a reaction time of 16ms which would mean it could do up to 60fps, and I'd prefer to have the full motion if I can.
Sorry if this is a newbie question it's just something I need as even which progressivly sent tv shows my encoder box always gets the wrong field.
