I am using DVDecrypter and DVD Shrink and my problem is this: I have had gfreat success copying, burning and playing movies that are larger than 4.7G however any older DVD's that start smaller than 4.7 G will only play with my computers DVD Player. They are unreadable on my stand alone dvd player.
I have tried copying and burning with DVDDecrypter with no success, I have also tried copying and then running analysis with DVD Shrink and then creating an ISO file and backing up with DVD Shrink but for some reason any DV that starts out under 4.7G will only be playable on my computer.
Thank you in advance for your time.

Do you have another burning program you can try, like Nero? If so, you might want to try ripping in file mode (all files) and burning them with another program. Just make sure that you burn the VIDEO_TS, which would contain the ripped files, and AUDIO_TS folders to your DVD.

I have also tried burning with Nero and end up with the same results. When I first became aware of the problem I tried a different route wherein I rip with DVD Decrypter and then convert the ISO to a file folder using DVD Shrink, then burn with Nero. In the end I was still unable to play the DVD on my player.
Elaborating further: I have ruled out the possibility of it being a format/media issue too. I have had success burning files that started over 4.7 G to both DVD +/- R and my DVD player is capable of reading both formats. I have been succesful with all of my burning attempts with the exception of these older DVD's that are under 4.7 G and don't require compression.
Any other suggestions or remedies for me out there?

    Thanks again.

Never had this problem, so no difinative answer for you. If I did have this problem consistently, I guess I'd start by uninstalling DVD Shrink and DVD decrypter and downloading the latest versions of each and reinstalling.

What brand/model is your stand alone player ?
What brand/model is your DVD writer ?
Do these disks work on other players ?
Have you looked at the structure of the disks once you have burned them ? Most software players will play a DVD if only the files are there, regardless of the folder structure, most standalones wont do this.
