    Hi Guys
New to the site so Hey! to everybody. I hope I'm in the right section for my problem.
The problem I'm having is recently the DVD's I burn ( Using WinAVI ) seem to have about a 30 to 35% chance that they'll play properly, by that I mean they will start off playing OK then they start to kind of skip and or slow down and eventually will freeze. As I said I use WinAVI which I find is great and I use DVD +R disc's and haven't any problems at all up until recently. I'm hoping somebody may be able to help me out with this, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx guy's.

Besides using reliable media, try burning with Imgburn ....
Sorry but I don't see too many users of WinAvi, claiming it works "great"
I'd try FAVC ,DVDFlick or ConvertxtoDVD, if you're converting avi to DVD...

Really?, that's surprising I haven't had any problems what so ever with WinAVI until now. What do you mean by reliable media?, what it is I'm burning or what I'm using for burning (WinAVI)?. Thanks for responding.

  5. By "reliable" they mean use better quality DVD+Rs. Since you didn't give the brand we can't know if that's really the problem, but poor quality discs can certainly create those symptoms. And, as mentioned, ImgBurn is the burning app of choice these days.

And although WinAVI is crap, I don't think by itself it's responsible for the problems with the skipping and freezing. Nor was t0nee1 suggesting it was responsible. He was suggesting that in the future you use a better conversion program.

Oh OK I see what they meant. As far as disks I use the Sony DVD+ R. I just checked out ImgBurn and it seemed to work well but I haven't had a chance to see if the problem was solved by using it. I'll post back once I've checked. Thanks allot Manono and everybody else that responded.
