heres the thing: i am trying to create a clip for my wedding with scenes from 12 differente dvd, so i did the following: chose the chapters i wanted, dvd decrypter on these chapters.
next, i used autogk to create a test clip for premiere 6.5 (vob to avi), which i thought wouldnīt work, since it encodes in xvid, but, to my great surprise, premiere read the file and it played perfect in the source window. so i proceded to autogk the rest of the chapters (spent a whole day on that), and selected just the scenes i wanted in premiere. when i was finished and rendered, it didnīt play from the timeline. black screen and only noise in the audio. export, the same thing.
so i went for a quest to replace the xvid compressed avi with premiere readable dv avi. i tried: dvd2avi, dvdx, and virtualdubmod (uncompressed, panasonic dv and canoppus dv). no succes. simply can't get premiere to read the avi's.

can anyone tell me (real step-to-step) how to transform the vob into premiere readable aviīs with virtualdobmod (which i guess is the way out)? it would really be important to get the whole chapters into aviīs, so i donīt have to redo all the scene selection. i would rather have the audio, but itīs ok if there's none. just need good quality premiere readable avi. i'm not used to premiere, since i usually edit fcp (have no mac now, though
