  1. Well for what I thought would be an easy process has quickly put some extra grey hairs on my head.

Here is the deal. I have a Tivo that now has the Tivo to go service so you can copy movies to your computer. Basically I take the .tivo and run it in GraphEdit to get rid of the password. (Link)

Then after that I edit out the crap at the beginning and end of the movie using TMPGEng MPEG Editor. I will then output that in ES Audio + Video.

Import that into DVD Lab and it works GREAT with the exception of sound. There is never any audio in the output file. I am prolly doing something stupid wrong.

The file that I end up with is a 480x480 MPEG2.

Does anyone know of a better way to do this?

PS. I have Nero too but it takes about 3 hours to do the whole process of encoding where as DVD Lab takes maybe one hour.

    Thanks,

    Andy

Yes. Should of bought a Win PVR 500-MCE and Beyond TV (Dual TV Tuners, record two shows at the same time, MPEG 2 hardware capture). Install in your computer with a nice big fat hard drive, capture in DVD High Rez. No fees, ability to do remote recordings from anywhere, excellent interface, the ability to recompress in just about any format you want at night while you sleep and if you want to convert to DVD, Demultiplex with TMPGEnc, IFOEdit to Reauthor and DVD Shrink to Cut out commericals etc. Want a menu? Use DVD Lab or DVD Architect. No audio video sink problems to speak of. Oh and no dam encoding! Maybe though since you invested your money in a TIVO, someone can get your audio issue fixed.

S-Video Out to 60" Plazma TV, 7.1 Cinema Studio EX Sound, Remote control with more features than TIVO will ever have. TIVO is overpriced. Try getting your files to DVD.

  6. If you output 480x480 mpeg2 this is out of DVD standarts. Then check the audio - it should be 48 KHz (not 44.1 !) - that can be your problem.
