I have about 12 dvd's to burn and want to know if it will effect the quality of the burn if i watch wintv at the same time.
Has anyone experienced any problems whilst doing more than one task?

As long as you don't interrupt the flow of data to the burner's buffer, it should not affect the burn. Anything that uses a lot of memory or causes a lot of disk activity may cause problems. If you are only watching, and not recording, you will probably be OK.

I looked at your PC specs (don't look at mine :P) and I don't think it should have any problems at all just watching wintv as long as it's setup correctly in the first place
My PC was a lot weaker than that a while back yet I would still use multiple programs while burning. You can check the burners buffer while you open apps and you should see how much it affects it. If it drops greatly for a few seconds then your PC definitely need a tune up

Some Cd/DVD burning software still flash a warning dialog telling you that disk burning is very precise, don't do anything else while the disk is burning, etc etc.
However, I think those warnings are left over from the Pentium III days. Today's PCs should not have much problem, especially the hyper-thread ones. -
since its doen't take very long to burn. i don't mess with the computer will burning or transcodeing but that is just me.

I sometimes snap MMC onto record if a show is coming on that I want, while DVD Decrypter is going through the process of verifying the DVD I just made. It seems to be fine so far, though I have am aprehensive about doing this while DVD Decrypter is burning the ISO file. I don't want to drop frames and I don't want to do anything to prevent the DVD from burning correctly.

I never do anything while the PC is burning a CD or DVD. I'm usually burning important data abd do not want to risk a bad burn. Even though the software reports no errors while burning you may find your disc has issues related to a bad burn (skipping, inaccessible data, locking up, etc.)
Your mileage may vary but for the length of time it takes to burn a DVD 15-20 minutes at most I'd say just walk away, go outside and get some fresh air. The WinTV Software takes up alot of CPU cycles. -

I recommend useing DVDinfopro to scan your discs for errors afterwards,if your concerned. -
I ALWAYS am doing something else while a CD or DVD is burning. With your setup (mine is comparable) you shouldn't have a problem. But be reasonable, don't go doing 10 things at once. I usually have iTunes running, IE or Firefox, Roxio and maybe Excel or Word. never a bad burn because of memory or buffer yet.

To eb completely safe, leave it alone. CPU and RAM are not the only ingredients in a system resource cocktail. I don't mess with my computer when I care about the burn, especially if it's a master copy that will be used as source for a small duplication.

I surf the web, read emails. But never anything that uses alot of processor or the memory.

Since all of mine are just backups of crap I already have bought from somewhere, I feel fine in doing what I please with the CPU while it burns.
