  1. Noticing the following strangeness: although I had gotten Beta 7 to work in the past, after not using it for a while I tried running it today. It did not come up to the menu. I re-checked my firewall settings, made sure it was an allowed application, and to make sure I was running the non-demo version I deleted the demo exe file from the program files folder.

Is something trying to check online, and finding I am not identified? I would be happy to contribute again, as well, but I would like to identify this problem. Perhaps, I am identified under the wrong ID. But I was not aware any online checking was taking place. If it worked once, it should continue to work, I thought. I am not sure what has changed.

I am deliberately not installing Beta 8 at this time, in order to resolve. Thanks.

There may have been a change to your system. If you double click on the "SVCD2DVD demo.exe" file in the SVCD2DVD Beta folder you can redo the registration process. This should solve the problem.

    No online checking is performed.

The latest version is RC1 not beta 8

  5. This has happened to me as well. I had been using RC1 for about a week. I had been getting the exception error occasionally, but last night and this morning it was persistent after reboot, which had cleared it before. I did as suggested above, clicked on the demo exe and reregistered. It works now. As far as I know there has been no change in the machine (no hardware or software adds or changes that I know of, and I am the only user). For reference, here is the exception error.
    Version: 2.0 RC1

    Type: System.NullReferenceException
