  1. Sorry for all these questions but I am new to this.
I have a avi movie 480x352. When I try to convert it to a svcd using DVD2SVCD I get borders at the side.
Can I resize the file to get rid of these borders and still have good quality?
    If so how?

  2. I am not so fond of DVD2SVCD myself. But I know it worth testing in TMpegEnc cause there you will have better control to get a preview and everything and see what will be you eventual output file.

    Try TMpegEnc

  3. I have to Agree to Use Tmpenc but the side borders are a problem. Because yor vid res is 480*352, it is not the std. SVCD format of 480*480. In TMPRenc, you can convert the .avi file to SVCD and the resolution will scale until it reaches the max while keeping aspect ratio.

To fix the side borders with dvd2svcd click on the frameserver tab and choose edit as part of video encoding so when it comes to the part of encoding a menu will popup where you can change some of the encoding script such as borders.

    For example if you see:
    BicubicResize(340,480,0.0,0.6)
    AddBorders(70,0,70,0)

then cut out the add borders and resize the 340 to 480 so you get:
    BicubicResize(480,480,0.0,0.6)
