  1. Hello!
I have been fiddeling with the TMPGE program for a long time now and am still curious about a couple things..maybe someone can help.. Where do i get the new templates for the TMPGE and what folder does it go into? MY wanted ability is to take .vob files and encode to MPEG1.
ALSO..if I am encoding a video file from avi to mpeg1 which is better to do..
    1. encode both audio/video together.. 1 hour of footage takes my amdk62, 356 megram about 5 hours to process
    2. split the avi using virtual dub and encode audio seperate, video seperate.then encode them together .

what are my other choices..? I have not had much luck with any other programs..and please only suggest one if you are willing to provide a hyperlink and way to use program without spending $. I really love doing this but it is the most time consuming hobby ever!
    thanks
    Sean

  2. You can download sefy's templates from the tools section and then place them in the folder with all of the other .mcf files they will be in a templates felder in the location where you run the program from. I don't know anything about the .vob files but as far as your encoding both or seperately I don't know which works better, I do know however that you can specify an external mp2 encoder for the audio and it's supposed to be better than tmpgenc's encoding. I guess the external encoder to use is called toolame and I beleive it's available in the tools section, if not just do a search at http://www.dogpile.com .One thing though is that when toolame is encoding the audio it creates a temporary wave file that ends up being huge (like if the vcd is 65 mins the temp file will be around 650Mb) so if you have a small HD be weary of this.
