I'm looking at my dvd collection and I do not see one comedy![]()
I'm looking for suggestions.
I haven't seen much, but here is the best one I've ever seen.
Groundhog day
I really liked this one. Am I right or am I right, right, right, right??
If you saw it, you should remember this line.

I'm still waiting for my big break.
"There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon." -- Raoul Duke -
Hello,
GROUNDHOG DAY is one of the all time GREATS
Check out these:
BEVERLY HILLS NINJA
UHF (weird Al)
Galaxy Quest
Red Green Ducttape Forever
Rush Hour 1 + 2 (sorta comedies)
Lethal Weapon 1-4 (again sorta comedies)
Plenty of others as well....
Oh yeah THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO LITTLE - another funny BILL MURRAY movie
KevinDonatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
Hello,
Another one:
ENCINO MAN (yeah I know pauly shore's in it but it was like Brendan Fraser's first movie and he did really well in MUMMY).
Actually here's one that isn't a comedy but might as well be:
FIFTH ELEMENT
You can't watch it and take it seriously at all
(has to be Bruce Willis' worst movie
).
KevinDonatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
"The Odd Couple" now that is ******* hilarious.... "Felix I'm going to kill you"
-
Some that I found funny, but may or may not be classed as comedies:
Caddyshack
Me, Myself & Irene
Old School
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Men At Work
Dumb & Dumber 1 & 2
Wayne's World 1 & 2
American Pie 1 & 2 (3 blows IMO)
Road Trip
Happy GilmoreIf in doubt, Google it. -
Good suggestions.
I tried to watch caddyshack and I did not like it. Maybe it was too old. Doesn't matter.
But I really liked "Happy Gilmore"
I also remember "Top secret". Was pretty good. -

These are some I consider classic (or clas-sick) comedies -
I Wanna Hold Your Hand - not a movie about The Beatles but a movie about their fans and what lengths each goes to see 'em in person.
A fun movie even if you aren't a fan of The Beatles.
The Gods Must Be Crazy - I get a bigger kick out of the first 20 minutes or so that deals with the Bushmen rather than the slapstick subplot that develops around it.
A coke bottle falls from a plane onto a primitive tribe in South Africa, and they think it was a gift sent from the Gods...but aren't quite sure what its purpose is...but find many things to do with it...then it makes everyone greedy and makes trouble...so they decide the only way to become the happy bunch they once were, they need to throw it off the face of the earth...which the lead character sets out to do and encounters modern civilation along the way.
The Hollywood Knights - a bit on the order of Animal House and American Graffiti.
Cheech & Chong's Up In Smoke - The scene with Ajax lady alone tops anything that I've ever seen in a movie
Which Way Is Up - Richard Pryor in his prime...too bad his movies got lousy after he made this one.
Barbarella - more subtle humor...took me a couple views before I got it, but now it's a classic.
Flesh Gordon - raunchy humor / nudie version of Flash Gordon.
Hairspray - A Guilty pleasuse...John Waters' campy take on '50s/'60s Rock 'n' Roll B-movies.
Galaxina - Another one I'm ashamed to admit I enjoyed
Very cheesy B-movie that's so bad it's funny.
Hollywood Shuffle - Parody of the Hollywood Stysem and sterotypes...though made in the '80s, so it might seem a little dated now.
Silent Movie - My favorite Mel Brooks film. (not on DVD yet but will be released within the year)
Yellowbeard (not on DVD yet)
It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World - If you like older movies, this is one to see.
The Cheap Detective - Neil Simon's '70s parody of '40s detective movies with a huge cast.
I would've suggested Caddyshack also....so maybe ya might not go for the other ones I listed
But these reflect my sense of humor. -

Got kind of disapointed (my spell check does not work - am I missing a letter?.)
I think Airplane was also very funny. -

"Are we awake?"
"We're not sure.........are we black"
"Yes we are"
"Then we're awake, but very puzzled."
"You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons" -
what about Aurther? great flick.. "your a hookah? i just thought i was doing good with you" lol funny movie
-
I wanted to be the first to suggest the Cheech & Chong movies. All of them.
Anything with Dangerfeild.
Being I am in construction I thought "the money pit " had a funny shot or two.
While not side splitting, I think that the kids movies Shrek and Toy Story were pretty good.
The classic Peter Sellers like Pink Panther.
The old TV classics like Red Skeleton and the varity shows would be a good staple to have in a collectionIS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT? -
Oh yea, what about the Three stooges, Abbot and Costello, Laurel and Hardy, Charlie Chapman, Buster Keeton the list could go on with the classics not to mention the obscure

Another one I just remember:
"The party", with Peter Sellers.
Birdy num num? -
Eight Heads In A Duffle Bag. The scene with the singing heads cracks me up ever time I see it.

Some more I thought of:
Used Cars
Slap Shot
Night Patrol
Bachelor Party
Lost In America
I'm not a big fan of Clint Eastwood, but I got a big kick out of the Every Which Way But Loose movies.
Wise Guys is good but not on DVD yet. -

-
The Little Rascals Series and movie shorts.
The funniest in my opinion.....Spanky and the Gang. -
Young Doctors In Love
Michael Richards and Hector Elizondo were hilarious - Richards as the inept hitman and Elizondo as the cross-dressing mafia chief who has a doctor fall in love with him while dressed as a woman
