    Hello,

They're not really comedies but THE MUMMY and THE MUMMY RETURNS starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weiz are really funny....

My mates and I still quote lines out of that movie. I know probably every line in that movie.

There are differing levels of comedies in my collection. There are the straight-up comedies, romantic/dramatic/dark comedies, and action comedies.

Straight-up comedies are simple: Monty Python and Mel Brooks. To this day I still think Holy Grail is the funniest movie ever made, and by quite a distance. We had movie marathons some weekends at school and had Mel Brooks and Monty Python marathons and I recall leaving them quite in pain from all the laughing. Oh, Top Secret is well up there too. The part where the cows walk "into" the binoculars set us off something fierce one night but I think we had a few to drink at that point as well. Just thinking about it is good for a chuckle

Along the lines of action comedies you can't beat Lock Stock and its sequel (yeah, Snatch is pretty much a sequel). SLC Punk is one of my favorites as well. I think Kevin Smith films fall between this and the dramatic comedies.

Dramatic comedies are those like Napoleon Dynamite (though that could be a straight comedy if it moved faster), Wes Anderson films, and even Office Space would be in there.

My runners-up would be Airplane 1&2, Robin Hood- Men in tights, The Naked Gun movies and Hot Shots but Spaceballs is by far and away the best in my collection, Imo.

Have you seen the original naked gun tv episodes (6 of them). Hilarious, almost better than the movies.

    "OK then."

"Son, you gotta panty on your head."

I agree with rally on the Guy Ritchie movies (Snatch and Lock, Stock...).

    My favorite line is probably

    "It's a deal, it's a steal, it's sale of the f**kin century. In fact, f**k it Nick, I think I'll keep it."

That and the '...I'll kill ya' speech. :P

Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrells is great....

I can't believe no one's mentioned Dumb and Dumber w/ Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey...or Ace Ventura. I thought both Pet Detective movies were funny back in the day, esp. in #1 when he comes outta the john, and he's all wet, and he's like, "Do [/b]not[/b] go in there..."

Billy Madison is funny too I thought.. I know lines from it and Happy Gilmore and still quote them; same with Ace Ventura #1.

    Hilarious Asian movies:

Tricky Brains w/ Stephen Chow & Andy Lau (who is prolly the Chinese equivalent of a guy like Brad Pitt)
Shaolin Soccer (w/ Chow and Zhao Wei)
    Anything w/ Stephen Chow
Guns & Talks (Korean movie; literal title, in Chinese, is "Assassins Company")
