  1. I just reformatted and reinstalled my PC. Just updated to SP2 in the process. Also changed to AVG Virus Scan and a newer version of Kerio firewall. Everything has installed fine until I get to PS7. It gets to the screen where the Setup progress bar is shown and then it freezes at 99% everytime. I've left it alone for 10 minutes and the gui just disappears and that's it. Any idea of how to fix this?

A scratched or dirty disc possibly?

  3. Nope, some kind of conflict evidently. I installed it successfully in Safe Mode. Just downloaded the update to patch it to 7.0.1 and it has the same problem. I guess I'll have to do that in safe mode as well.

  4. Okay get this. I tried it again in normal mode because the patch won't find the PS7.0 program correctly. Same deal occured but this time I just left it alone and went online for a bit. About a half hour later, the installer started. That's rediculous. I have no idea what's causing it.

    Is it a legal version?

  6. Yep. Its not just Photoshop evidently. Anything that uses this particular installshield wizard seems to be doing it.

  7. Strange. I have Photoshop 7 and WinXP SP2 installed.

Anybody else have problems with PS7 and SP2?

    Regards.

  8. It may not have a thing to do with SP2. I just don't have any idea exactly what is causing the problem. I disconnected my modem and disabled virus scan and firewall and still no go. Even once it's installed, and working fine, the 7.0.1 patch says it can't find PS 7 in the directory to patch it. I'm not too overly worried about it but it would be nice to get it cleared up since a few programs I use have the same installer packages.

  9. Also of note I disabled DEP for the installer packages and Photoshop also with no results. I don't think it is a DEP related issue.
